Singer/songwriter Scott Kirby is a favorite among
Trop Rock enthusiasts. A unique talent among coastal song-writers,
Scott's music returns us all briefly to the New England fishing
culture and folk songs. His smooth, mellow voice carries a
clear Northeastern accent, and he uses it to his advantage in
songs like The Dorymen and Northern
Town.
He's not all New Englander though and he shows his
Caribbean soul in great numbers like If Once You've Slept On An
Island and The Smallest of Islands.
Scott has collaborated with many songwriters,
including Peter Mayer and Roger Guth, of Jimmy Buffett's Coral
Reefer Band, and drummer/producer Russ Kunkel. He has also
recently written with Hugo Duarte and guitarist Bobby
Donaldson.
"Scott
Kirby is a human microcosm of the little island at the
southernmost tip of America. Entertainer and patron, laid back
humorist, sailor and singer, he’s another well-traveled fixture
of the American tropics."
