Born into a family of performing musicians and
dancers, it must have surprised many when Jim Morris initially
chose a life in the white collar world of corporate
business. But, a few Caribbean business trips and a few
years later found Jim following his family roots and musical heart
into the fledgling world of Trop Rock.
Beginning with his inaugural work, Laid Back
and Key Wasted, in 1996, Jim has developed a parrothead
following of his very own ever since. That's not all he's
done. Jim has also cranked out more than 15 albums, all
singing devotions to the music and life he loves near the shore.
A consummate storyteller, Jim's songs are filled
with tales of people, good times and lives to which we can call
relate. Thrown in with a pleasant voice and memorable, well
arranged melodies and you've got yourself a candidate for the
trop-rock hall of fame (should they ever build one).
