It seems by all accounts that Hugo Duarte has
successfully managed to create a panoply of music, a carnival of
musical tastes and influences.
Drawing on his cultural background (Chinese, Welsh & Cuban)
along with his broad list of early musical influences, Duarte's
music has been described as "a combination of a little bit
of this, a little bit of that, and a whole lot of down-to-earth
ingredients that come together in an adventure of the senses."
Duarte's most recent album, Don't Be Fooled By
The Hat, is more of a return to his country roots and a little
bit away from his earlier tropical sound (Good news, however, the
title track still includes nice Caribbean sounds). But like
the title says, don't be fooled. The music and the voice is
just as rich as ever.
