Gene
Mitchell
Artist:
Gene Mitchell
From: Panama City Beach, FL
Gene Mitchell was raised on a Mid-Atlantic coastal harbor town. While serving in the U.S. Navy, he wrote and performed songs from his own experiences traveling the world. Borrowing heavily from the sounds and influences of the music he encountered along the way (Polynesia, the Caribbean, Hawaii and other places), Gene managed to infuse his southern roots into the songs he wrote, creating a unique sound niche in his own corner of the Island Country genre.
Keeping his calendar full, Mitchell performs nearly 7 nights per week in the Panama City area.
Likewise, Gene is no stranger to the studio managing to record an impressive 9 albums.

Note - Gene Mitchell And The Big Coconut Band's 2003
release of Tropical Jazz is one of the coolest albums
I've ever heard. The arrangements on Tropical
Express are fantastic, easily comparable to Jimmy Buffett's Creola
or King of Somewhere Hot. |
"Gene Mitchell's lyrics are thought provoking and his melodies sing-a-long, a winning combination."
- Norman Saleet (Songwriter for the #1 Billboard hit "Here I Am" (recorded by Air Supply) and the hit movie soundtrack song "Where Did The Feeling Go" (recorded by Selena).
